A week ago, our new release of Orozco the Embalmer debuted at the Cinema Wasteland convention in Strongsville, Ohio. I would like to thank everyone that hung out and bought a copy of Orozco. It was an extremely fun weekend and it is a shame that it went by so fast. There were a few snags with the extras for the limited edition. The last piece ended up arriving a day before the convention, so all of the pre-orders were shipped after Wasteland. Everyone should expect to receive them by the end of this week. Please allow more time if you are outside of the USA.

I have a couple of exciting new announcements to make. First of all, I am extremely happy to say that at the next Cinema Wasteland (October 5th-7th, 2012), Massacre Video will be releasing the shot-on-video classic Demon Queen! As if that were not cool enough, Donald Farmer, the director of Demon Queen, will be joining Massacre Video in person!

Second, Massacre Video is planning on releasing Tsurisaki Kiyotaka’s second film, Junk Films. Stay tuned to the website and Facebook for the release date. I am aiming for three months or so from now. Everyone should make sure to pick Junk Films up, as it will be a great companion piece to the Orozco the Embalmer DVD.

There is one more thing I feel the need to mention. Massacre Video is operated independently, solely by me (along with Earl Kess, who does all of the killer artwork). I do not have a distributor. With that, my titles do not have as wide of availability as other labels’ releases do. I have been noticing on sites like Amazon and eBay, sellers have been price gouging the 555 DVD. The standard DVD sells for $90 on these sites! This phenomenon is simply crazy due to the fact you can buy 555 from the Massacre Video store for a measly $20! It’s flattering that Massacre Video releases are in such high demand, but please spread the word about our site so that customers will not have to overpay.

As many of you know, 555 was released at Cinema Wasteland this past October. The release is going extremely well and the feedback has been overwhelming. I would like to thank every single person that has purchased the DVD, the VHS, or the limited edition DVD.

As some of you have heard, Massacre Video will be releasing Tsurisaki Kiyotaka’s 2001 shockumentry Orozco the Embalmer. Like 555, Orozco will be given the deluxe treatment as only a standalone DVD, but also in a limited edition DVD/VHS. The limited edition DVD and VHS will be limited to 100 copies each, so make sure to pre-order them when the time comes.

Also, Massacre Video has teamed up with filmmaker Glen Coburn to release a very special VHS of his campy 1984 film Bloodsuckers from Outer Space. This will be our first VHS-exclusive release and it will include some awesome extras from Coburn.

Both Orozco the Embalmer and Bloodsuckers from Outer Space will make their debut at the next Cinema Wasteland, scheduled for March 31-April 2, 2012. See you there!

To me, this convention has been like home for years! Naturally, I asked myself, “What better place is there to have the 555 release party?” Massacre Video will have a table there the entire weekend, so be sure to stop by and pick up a copy of 555. Saturday night (technically Sunday) at 12:15AM, there will be a screening of 555 to close out the convention for the day. This will be the first official 555 screening since the initial release back in ’88. I will also be announcing the new Massacre Video releases at the convention!

Regarding pre-orders, thank you to everyone who pre-ordered and stuck through the bullshit PayPal put me through. Everything was resolved in an odd way, but resolved nonetheless. The Massacre Video store will reopen after Cinema Wasteland, when all DVDs are on hand!

Long story short, PayPal feels that I should not be able to spend any of the pre-order money to make the product! They refuse to unlock the money until I ship the product out, which is counterproductive because without the money I can not pay for the product to be created, so how could it be shipped? After speaking to PayPal representatives for hours on end, I realized I hit a brick wall and they do not care about the little company or how they could possibly corrupt it.

Within a day or so I will post again to let everyone know what is currently going on with the pre-orders! TO EVERYONE WHO HAS PRE-ORDERED, YOUR ORDER WILL BE HONORED!

I have put a lot into this project already for it to fail at the last second due to a greedy multi-billionaire company such as PayPal. I will work diligently to make sure that this is solved in the fastest matter possible.

You may notice that MV is no longer an e-store. Right now, I am going to focus more on releasing films. I won’t say that the store will never come back, but I just have other things on mind right now. I have gotten a bunch of emails about 555′s progress which is great. Things are coming along slowly, but they are surely coming. MV is not my full-time job, nor was it ever intended to be. I am a film lover that does this as a hobby. So please do not expect the fastest turn around, especially because this is a one man operation. But I can say that 555 should be released by the end of 2010. I am very proud of how the DVD is shaping up and I hope old and new fans will be able to appreciate all the work that has gone into this DVD!

In other news, I had Massacre Video shirts made for the April 2010 Cinema Wasteland convention in Strongsville, Ohio. They went over extremely well. I only had 25 made and they all sold out! If anyone would be interested in one, shoot me an email to motivate me to get some more printed. Here is a photo of the shirt:
